Excerpt from Membernaire
by Jimmy D. Brown
One of the biggest problems that membership site owners face is getting content. No question about it, it’s a struggle for some people to keep cranking out quality information, while others find even getting started a challenge.
What I want to share with you today are some different WAYS to get information to share each week.
Before I share these with you, let me quickly talk about the “4 pillars” of information…
- You can WRITE IT YOURSELF. The obvious primary source of your content is that which you write yourself.
- You can INTERVIEW SOMEONE. Another option for one or more lessons is to interview other people in your field, both “experts” and “non-experts” alike.
- You can HIRE A GHOSTWRITER. You may also want to outsource the creation of some or all of your lessons to a professional ghostwriter who will anonymously write the lessons which you can then claim ownership and authorship to.
- You can PURCHASE PLR CONTENT. A final major pillar is to purchase a “private label license” to existing content which you may thereby alter and publish as your own.
In the future, I will have a COMPLETE LESSON on *each* of these four pillars to share lots of keys to success, vendor resources and other insights into using these sources for developing your content.
But today I’ll be going over some “other” options that few people really use (if they’ve even heard of them!)...
7 S.O.U.R.C.E.S™ For First-Rate Content
As the so-called “King of Acronyms”, I use
S - STANDALONES
O - OUTLINES
U - UNIONS
R - RESOURCES
C - COLLECTIONS
E - EXCERPTS
S - SERIES
Let’s take a look at each of these in greater detail…
S.O.U.R.C.E.™ #1 S – Standalones.
There are a variety of different kinds of “standalones” that you can offer in exchange for a “regular” lesson.
These are usually materials that are related to the topic of your FTM site and are used to enhance the content for a better understanding and application of your lessons.
A few examples include…
• Worksheets
• Templates
• Quizzes
• Calendars
• Checklists
• Planners
• Illustrations
• Mindmaps
• Tools
• Vendor List
• Documents (Legal, Business, Etc.)
• Forms
• Charts
And so forth. Anything that can be created to improve upon your existing content is an idea option here.
I recommend that you use one of these as a substitution for your regular lesson at least once every other month.
-----
If that's two pages of the course -- imagine how much you'll learn over the entire year's worth of lessons.
The course is getting rave reviews from beginners and expert marketers alike. Check it out: MyMembershipSite

I Love Affiliate Marketing
NOTE: The following is a guest post from one of my favorite
internet marketing mentors.
Why I Love Affiliate Marketing - Part 1
By Jimmy D. Brown of "Affiliatenaire"
Do you find yourself "starting" to create your own product
to sell online, but never "finishing" it?
One of the things I love about affiliate marketing is --
** You don't need to create your own products **
Many people find the idea of creating their own products to
be an overwhelming and even paralyzing task.
* I don't have any good ideas!
* I'm not a writer!
* There's too much competition!
* I don't know how to set everything up!
* I can't figure out where to start!
* It's too hard!
These are just a few of the valid reasons many people give
when it comes to not creating their own products to sell.
I'm sure with a few minutes of brainstorming, we could come
up with a list of many more.
With affiliate marketing, you don't need your own products.
You simply promote someone else's already proven successful
offer for a commission.
And, truth be told, even if you ARE a writer and you DO have
lots of ideas and you CAN figure it all out...
** Nobody wants to create new products all the time **
As good as you may be, you don't know everything! Why try
to create a product on every topic imaginable in your
market when you can earn just as much money by simply
promoting someone else's really good offer as one of your
profit streams?
That's why I love affiliate marketing.
You don't need to create your own products.
.........................
Jimmy D. Brown is the author of "Affiliatenaire", teaching
you how to create big-time affiliate commission checks in
only 1-3 hours each week. Discover how you can get cash in
the bank without a website, experience or even an idea!

Complementing my EBAY Bookstores - E-Books
Where does the knowledge to make this start begin? For me it started by Clicking on a site - MyScribeWeb. Half way around the globe this person in Australia offered a website that she created and suggested that with a few changes you can make this site yours.
What an idea! Looked at the context and realized here was a new library of books. A new source of merchandise to educate and entertain others -
E Books. The name of my site was selected way back when I started on EBAY relating "Digests" with "Books". People were experimenting with electronic items to read without buying a real book. Both seem to have a place and I wanted to make these available quickly. MyScribeWeb made this possible.
Guidance from this site toward a Free Website, with my alterations a Website Builder Free, some resources to bring my desires to the site and inventory and we were flying.
Books are a staple to me but marketing is what comes to light on the Internet. Didn't hurt that others want to share their wares and promote through others. I think it is great and embraced it heavily. Hope you don't mind.
Early e-books were generally written for specialty areas and a limited audience, meant to be read only by small and devoted interest groups. Numerous e-book formats emerged and proliferated and supported by Adobe's PDF format. Sites devoted to e-books began disseminating information by this means to the public.
I am doing the same on several pages - Using this link takes you to 1000's of titles Large Source of E-Book Titles for You. Library Pages go into more history regarding this source of entertainment. We also have our OWN index of E-Books listed on my site My Library of E-Books. Something for everyone.
View the e-book Quicklink or View by Catagory Index.
All can also be seen at Digests411.

My Guide to a LOVE for Internet Marketing
Where it all Began: EBAY made me believe in marketing on the computer. I was starting when few were actually there. Combining the feedback
of four EBAY stores brings the Positive Feedback in the thousands. For someone that sells one book at a time, packaging and gaining inventory to keep it a cottage business, it's a job made easier because of the Internet.
I wanted a website to emphasize the marketing - but being older in age - found the use of a staple like EBAY the easy route. I think back to when I was in college and an early job where the introduction to Computer Science and the World Wide Web sounded like science fiction.
When you take the time to see what knowledge is on THE INTERNET you realize even I can be creative. Hope this doesn't sound like success, but it was in my eyes a great start. This is what my website became - My Great Start.
Let me know what you think. Reminder Quicklink or Main Site.

My LOVE for Books and Media
Where it all Began: Book sales and Garage sales all over the Minneapolis- St. Paul area. Many of the larger and smaller churches here have one or two sales to raise funds each year. In this area many, many people line up and wait for the sale to open just to compete for decent merchandise. It started as a small hobby and mushroomed to a volume of merchandise that moved well on the auction site - EBAY!
It started as one store that easily reached hundreds of books - when it reached a 1000 titles decided to expand to store two. I felt it was overwhelming for someone to search hundreds of books to select one or two that they would buy. By creating two stores, which eventually became four, found more and more buyers through the various storefronts and uniqueness.
I didn't do this to confuse. I kept the idea that too many books in one store was like opening a mega-store on the internet.
As I see more and more repeat customers through one or more sites - I realize the time had come to let everyone know four stores existed. Proud of the magnitude of books being offered and wanting everyone to benefit from the price structure that I have been promoting. Most are highly reasonable and combination of Media is practical because of the Media Mail Postage Option. After the first selection I ship any additional book without adding to the shipping rate. Note: Internationally this does NOT work - just U.S. addresses.

Why E-Books
WHY READ E-TEXTS AND E-BOOKS ?
Things are changing fast when it comes to media. Obviously, newspapers and magazines are affected by the expansion of the
Internet. TV and Radio where quick to join rather than fight the computer presense. Books are certainly joining the explosion and
we should be using and purchasing these for libary expansion. We don't always keep every book or article we read. We add the
knowledge to our repertoire and move on to the next book.
Here are some experts opinions as to why E-Books are an improved resource.
Save Money on Books
The #1 reason to take advantage of e-texts and e-books is the money you save on free or reduced-price books!
* If you're a student, many of the classics of literature you have to read in school are available for free on the Internet.
*If you're in business, many of the reference books you want are available either for free, or at a reduced price on the Internet.
* If you're an avid reader, you can choose from hundreds of thousands of books either for free or at reduced prices on the Internet.
* If you're in a specialized field, many relevant texts can be issued economically only as an e-book on the Internet.
On-line Archives
There are many on-line archives of e-texts and e-books set up by universities, non-profit organizations, associations, private companies, and others.
The archives are easy to search and the texts are simple to load to your computer.
E-books are available in various formats, which you will see on many of the sites listed below. The main three formats that you will see on pretty much all these sites are:
* PDF - This is the format you can read with the free Adobe Acrobat E-book.
* LIT - This is the format you can read with the free Microsoft E-book Reader. You may want to install in later on your own.
While PDF is the top e-book format, the Microsoft format is growing in popularity. And their reader offers the Text-To-Speech software.
* EXE - This format is what is called a stand-alone e-book. It means that your don't need a specific reader to read the book.
These e-books are made with a program that creates a frame around the electronic text that provides the basic browsing
keys needed to move through the pages and to search for specific words.
To read E-Books Online.
Many E-Books can be read online without saving them to your hard drive. To read Online just click the download link with your left mouse button.
We don't suggest to read entire e-books online but it is handy to get a general overview of an e-book before commiting it to your harddrive.
To Read E-Books Off Line.
To read an E-Book off line you first have to save the E-Book to your hard drive. To save the e-book click the download link with your right mouse button,
then select save or save as from the dropdown menu.
Find Unique E-Books and Collectable Hard Copy Books Here.
There are millions of very good e-book sites online, so why should you select this site - Digests411.
Firstly we will be posting reviews and linking to the very best e-book sites we can find, this will save you a lot of time hunting for them yourself.
Secondly we are catering to independant authors who's works you are not likely to find anywhere else. If you are a writer looking to promote your
work here please go to the "Promote E-B" tab in the navigation bar at the left of this page

Writing for the Web
“Consider considerations carefully” a quote from Katarina Jellinek.
For instance; Is there any difference between “Writing for the web” or writing a book?
I guess that it is important to consider who your audience is; whether writing for a book, magazine, newspaper, newsletter, essay, webpage, sales letter or love letter.
As an example, if you set out to write a factual book you need to stick to the facts – include factual data from recognized sources backed up by recognized authorities. Otherwise your credibility will be lost to your audience.
Writing a love letter, no matter how sincere will not be taken seriously if the recipient does not perceive the letter to apply to them personally.
An article about camping [no matter how good] won’t be considered for submission in a fashion magazine.
News journalists writing for newspapers should not present their personal opinions. Instead their job is to report the news.
Newsletters should relate to the topic of the newsletter that people have requested.
Webpage content needs to cover the topic of the keywords by which people came to the webpage via the search engines.
Writing for Web Page Content
When setting up a web page for the public to visit ask yourself the following questions:
• Am I supplying the information that my web page advertises to deliver?
Example: You inserted the keywords “animal husbandry” in your meta tags.
Therefore your content should cover “animal husbandry” – The care of animals.
Your content should NOT be about what an animal your husband is – different topic altogether.
• Always think about what your visitor expects to find on your web page.
Put yourself in your visitor’s shoes. After searching for a topic on the search engine, your page was selected above all the rest. This is because your page description came closest to the visitor’s inquiry. If your page content does not live up to its description your visitor will be disappointed and leave your site.
• Make your content easy to navigate and keep your pages as uncluttered
as possible. Bold headings help the visitor to scan quickly to the part that interests them. If visitors don’t find what interests them quickly they are more likely to leave your site to find the information somewhere else.
• Address your customers needs and wants on sales pages.
If your product can fulfil the need of your customer you are more likely to make a sale. Therefore emphasise the benefits of your product for your customer.
Example: This product XXX will ensure that you will get a good nights sleep is better than; Buy this product XXX because it’s the best, cheapest etc., in the world!
• Proof read your content.
Go to the trouble and proof read your content – or get someone to proof read it for you.
Gross spelling errors, incorrect grammar and bad layouts are an insult to your readers. Remember that trust and credibility are important factors to establishing a clientele Online.
• Unless your site is advertised as an Adult site.
Keep your language clean – make sure that your content is suitable for family viewing.
